Downtown Dothan Festival of Murals and Street Fair A variety of cultural events, most surrounding the performance and visual arts. Something for everyone from Gospel, Bluegrass, Country and Jazz to dance and museum activities. The Street Fair features live music on several stages, free activities for children, pet costume contest, arts and crafts vendors, food and much more.

Praisefest is an incredible night of Worship and Praise held on Wednesday, April 30th in the beautiful setting of Poplar Head Park.  It is a wonderful opportunity for the student ministries of our city to come together and lift up praise as well as get to know one another.  The evening is for anyone in middle school and high school.  We will begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8:00 pm., and concessions will be available.  Come join us as we lift up our praise in the center of the city!

The Tri-State Community Orchestra will present the music of Richard Pearson Thomas describing the Murals in downtown Dothan; the "Wiregrass Symphony". As the orchestra performs the music, the mural that the music describes will be shown in the background behind the orchestra. If you have never seen and heard this outstanding work, you are definitely missing a treat. The Wiregrass Youth Symphony Orchestra will be performing during the concert under the baton of Mr. Alex Zacahrias. The WYSO is made up of thirty outstanding young musicians from across the Wiregrass Area who rehearse on Saturday mornings in the TCO room at the Cultural Arts Center.

Currently in it's third year, this downtown street festival is a "Celebration of the Arts" and features artists from several different mediums, including fine art, crafts, music, theater, and dance. Live musical and dance entertainment will appear throughout the day on 3 stages. The children's art activities initiated by Troy University-Dothan, are expanding this year in order to expose our youngest citizens to dance, music and theater arts as well. Join the fun, visit the artists, enjoy the entertainment and food in Historic Downtown Dothan.

A long tradition between Music South and Wallace Community College, the annual jazz festival in downtown Dothan includes three unique venues: A daytime competition among regional high school, community college and university jazz bands; a renowned jazz artist, as visiting artist and educator, providing an instructional session in the afternoon and an evening concert of extraordinary jazz entertainment. The concert setting is informal, with New Orleans style décor and specialty foods available for purchase from local vendors.
